It's significant this happens only from a contact page, not from a search result page. I've tested and this doesn't appear to affect 4.7, but I cannot find a bug in JIRA where this issue was fixed.
To reproduce: find any contact, attempt to remove them from a group, or rejoin a past group they used to be in. It could be a dumb group, smart group, or ACL group, the 'db error' occurs regardless.
The attached log file shows a missing column contribution_recur_id.
Note that my site does use ACL. But the contact does NOT have to be in any ACL group nor have a recurring contribution plan for the error to occur.
