      Description

The following patch allow to add an attachment on a mailing.

The code might contain not that useful stuff, but the wizard is a bit too voodoo for me, I might have left things out of misunderstanding....

      Limitations:

      1) Once added, no way of deleting the attachement, beside copying the mailing.
      2) When copying an event, doesn't copy the attachment.

Useful for my own usage IMMV

      $svn diff CRM/Mailing > /tmp/php.diff
      $svn diff templates/CRM/Mailing > /tmp/template.diff

We need to do this for the HRD project. Lets allow upto 3 attachments. When attaching the file, we will need to clean up the filename and remove the md5 we introduce so the users get a relatively clean filename

Rewrote the patch a fair amount. Also adding displaying attachments in reporting screen

          A fair amount indeed

Thanks, I'm looking at your modifications, learning how to do it a better way.

P.S. The attachment was already displayed on the report, but I realise it was not done properly.

I'm a bit confused. This issue looks to be closed, which suggests to me that support for attachments has been added to a release of CiviMail. However, I can't see the feature in CiviCRM 3.0.1.

Can someone please clarify whether this is in a release?

          Thanks...

          Martin - just ran a quick test on public demo and the pane to add attachments is definitely there - on step 3 below the message composition boxes. You can log in to demo and go to this mailing to see this;
          http://drupal.demo.civicrm.org/civicrm/mailing/send?mid=15&continue=true&reset=1

          (demo db is reset periodically)

If you can create a sequence of steps on the demo where the Attachment feature is NOT available - please post on the forum.

OK, I think I just worked it out. I finally found the setting (on the Miscellaneous page) that allows the maximum number of attachments to be specified. It was blank. I changed it to 3 and now the attachment pane appears!

So you have to know (where) to find this setting... and then everything is fine. Over time I have upgraded all the way from CiviCRM 1.x, so perhaps this setting never got populated with a default value as I upgraded?
