Description
Currently there is an action link in the Membership tab row to "Cancel Auto-renew Subscription" (click 'more' to see that action) - but this appears only if payment processor is Auth.net or Google checkout. For other processors there is no way to cancel auto-renewal.
This issue provides an interim work around for this limitation (more integrated workflows for cancelling and updating auto-renew and recurring contributions will be implemented for 4.2).
- Recurring contributions can be cancelled from the Contributions tab - Recurring Contributions listing. This only updates the record status in CiviCRM - admins will ALSO need to cancel the recurring payment at the payment processor website.
- Once the associated recurring contribution record status is set to Cancelled, the auto-renew property is removed from membership. At that point, admins can change membership type, override status etc from the Edit Membership form.
— Original Post --------
When a membership is auto-renewing, javascript has disabled the ability to 'status over-ride' and cancel this auto-renew membership. Please edit the template so that status override is available.
See attached for examples...
User should get an alert if they "uncheck" the auto-renew checkbox:
"WARNING: If you are cancelling auto-renewal for this membership, you will also need to cancel the recurring payment with the payment processor."
